March 16th, 2020 - COVID-19 Response

As we have spoken to many of you in the last week about the Coronavirus (Covid-19), we wanted to update you on our plans for the coming weeks. This is a rapidly changing picture and we are paying close attention to the guidance issued by the government and developments more widely.

As of this evening (16th March 2020), we are all being advised to avoid non-essential travel and contact with others to try to delay the peak of the epidemic.

Whilst we very much value the importance of psychology sessions, we realise that on this occasion, we must consider wider health needs first.

Therefore, we are asking clients with upcoming appointments to consider holding their sessions by telephone in the first instance. We are looking at increasing this to skype/zoom in the coming days.

As with face-to-face sessions, we would of course appreciate as much notice as possible for cancellations but we understand that may be difficult in the current climate.

We are also aware that people are increasingly anxious at the moment - it is an uncertain time and uncertainty breeds anxiety. But it's helpful to find a balance between taking this seriously and not allowing anxiety to take over. As well as practicing good hygiene it's important that we practice good anxiety management too. We will be sending out some resources in the coming days for adults and children that you may find helpful.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions or queries and please do make contact with your own psychologist to look at the options available for your next scheduled appointment.

Thank you for your co-operation in these challenging times and we sincerely hope that you all stay well.
